Supporting Active Childhoods

Specialist in Pediatric Orthopedics

As a specialty clinic, Varsity Orthopedics sees child and teen athletes who are playing at a high level. With all competitive sports and activities, overuse syndrome is a common problem related to over-training on joints, ligaments and muscles.  Left untreated these problems can create lifelong issues that can follow the child into adulthood.

  • Fractures and Injuries: Broken bones, sprains, and sports-related injuries, which may require special care due to growth plates in children.
  • Growth-Related Disorders: Issues like scoliosis, kyphosis, or growth plate injuries that affect bone development.
  • Congenital Deformities: Conditions present at birth, such as clubfoot, hip dysplasia, or limb length discrepancies.

Minimally Invasive Surgery

If you are kid or a teen, chances are you will break a bone or have some type of injury along the way to adulthood. For example, according to the Mayo Clinic, 50% of children will break a bone before adulthood. Kids have a greater risk for certain types of injury and fractures than adults. Many fractures may occur when injury is introduced to developing growth plates and bones. Varsity Orthopedics specializes in minimally invasive surgery from ages of 20 and under for a variety of medical conditions and injuries.
